Gangnam Spice began in October 2023 with a simple mission: to bring a truly unique and original Korean fried chicken recipe to Boston. Inspired by the bold, vibrant flavors of Seoul’s Gangnam district, we set out to create something different from the typical K-fried chicken experience—perfectly crispy, deeply seasoned, and crafted from a personal, house-developed recipe you won’t find anywhere else. What started as a passion project has grown into a neighborhood favorite, serving the communities of Jamaica Plain and Roxbury with halal, flavor-packed comfort food that blends Korean street food roots with a fresh, modern twist.
Every part of our chicken is prepared in-house, from the batter to the sauces and finishing touches, using carefully chosen Korean ingredients. We rely on a double-fry method to achieve a crisp exterior while keeping the meat tender inside, then finish each piece with a gentle caramelization that adds depth and balance without weighing it down. The result is chicken that stays crisp, sauced, and satisfying from the first bite to the last.
